Spice Rubbed Chicken…Perfect Summer BBQ Dinner

Last week we talked about the beauty and relaxation of a backyard bbq. Being surrounded by love, laughter, good company and of course delicious food. Today we’re going to built upon our perfect bbq menu with these amazing spice rubbed drumsticks.

Juicy, slightly spicy and portable these drumsticks are perfect for backyard bbq’s, park picnics or even a ball park snack. They’re the perfect meat main to go along with any of your favourite summer salads. Simple to make these drumsticks are sure to be a crowd pleaser and will keep you from having to BBQ all night.

Play around with the spice mix to make it your own. Like it spicy, add more chilli, or brighten it up with some lemon zest. Half the fun of cooking is making a recipe your own. Let me know what your favourite spice combination is and how you made these drumsticks perfect for you. Get creative!

 

Spice Rubbed Chicken…Perfect Summer BBQ Dinner
Recipe Type: Dinner

Delicious spice rubbed drumsticks perfect for bbq’s, picnics or the ball park.
Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 4 tsp paprika
  • 4 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp poultry spice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Add all the spices to a bowl and stir to combine.
  3. Place drumsticks in a large zip top bag. Pour spice rub over the chicken and toss to evenly coat the chicken.
  4. Bake on parchment lined baking sheet for 30 minutes turning the chicken half way.
