It is extremely easy to go off track when it comes to eating. We see a bag of chips and immediately open it and maybe say one slice of pizza won’t hurt me. This might be true if it only happened once every blue moon, but many people can’t stop these bad habits once they start and don’t realize how often they fall off the healthy food wagon.
A great way to stay on track and make sure your occasional “cheat meal” is just a meal and not a daily occurrence – keep a food journal. Every time you eat something write it down. It does not matter if it was one cookie or 5 carrots. Keeping a visible record will make you more aware of what you put in your mouth. Our body needs food for fuel, but we want to be consuming the right type of fuel!
